Vice President of IT, Quality Services & Strategic Planning

Edward leads and oversees Information & Technology Services, Quality & Compliance, Process Improvement, Data & Reporting, Education & Training, and Strategic Planning. He directs the planning and implementation of enterprise IT systems that support business operations, and the planning, development and evaluation of quality improvement and employee safety, ensuring adherence with regulatory/compliance standards. He also manages data analytics, data science and data-driven organizational leadership, and designs and develops new and existing business models to ensure alignment of finance, operations, administration, and other disciplines. Edward also serves as Gift of Hope’s Quality Officer and HIPAA Security and Privacy Officer.

Before joining Gift of Hope, Edward was the Enterprise Information Security and Server Operations Manager (CISO) for Chicago Public Schools. His background and experience include running his own business, performing field service, and serving Thermo Fisher Scientific, a Fortune 250 company.

Edward is a member of (ISC)2 and the Association of Information Technology Professionals, and is President Emeritus of the InfraGard Chicago Members Alliance. He is involved with the CISO Executive Network, and serves on the governing body for Evanta’s CISO Executive Summit and on the Colorado Technical University College of Security Studies Advisory Council.

Edward holds a master’s in business administration and a master of science in mathematics from Northern Illinois University. He holds a bachelor of arts in liberal studies and a bachelor of science in nuclear engineering technologies from Thomas Edison State College, N.J.  He holds certificates in nonprofit management and leadership from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, and active certifications from (ISC)2, ASQ, ITIL, PCI, PMI, ISACA, Microsoft and CompTIA, as well as a designation from the National Security Agency and legacy certifications from Cisco and HP.
